Barr and Grosvenor Foundry Site Visit - 11am - 12:30pm - 22nd April 2026

Join us for an exclusive guided tour of Barr & Grosvenor Foundry. It is  one of Britain’s last foundries and specialises in the production of cast iron artefacts for the heritage community.

We will be visiting on a working day when the furnace will be working and we will be able to see the furnace being tapped and the molten metal being transported across the foundry to the casting floor.

Also, during the visit, we will see various castings from previous commissions which will show the intricacy and variety possible with this process.

Visitors will need to wear strong shoes and clothing which is both warm and close fitting.

Group leader – Philip Adams (Trustee)

Host – Dominic Grosvenor.
